The Central Cambria School District board approved multiple personnel items during its May 12 meeting. The Athletic & Extracurricular Committee recommended hiring Jim White as Girls Tennis Head Coach and Gary Simmons as Girls Varsity Soccer Head Coach under stipends per the CCEA-CCSD collective bargaining agreement; both hires were approved by unanimous vote of members present.
The Personnel Committee moved to change the status of four employees from Temporary Professional Employee to Tenured Professional Employee after three years of service: Billy Davis, Bryce Descavish, Kierra Miller and Kayley Zolocsik. The board recorded the motion as carried.
The board also accepted the resignation of Latrace Quaglia, the 7th-grade math teacher. In operational staffing, the board approved hiring one additional temporary summer maintenance worker (not to exceed 25 total workers) to assist the technology department at a rate of $10.00 per hour for up to 36 hours per week.
All of the above personnel actions were recorded in committee reports and carried by vote of the board members present; the minutes indicate required documentation or pending items for hires (for example, required paperwork for coaching hires).
