Board approves memorandum with Saint Francis University for College-in-High-School credit rates

The Central Cambria School District board on Feb. 9 approved a Memorandum of Agreement with Saint Francis University to allow Central Cambria High School students to pursue an SFU Associate of Science in General Studies while enrolled at CCHS.
Under the agreement approved by the board, College-in-High-School courses taught by CCHS teachers would be billed at $65 per credit, described in board materials as a 95.63% discount from standard tuition; online courses taught by SFU instructors would be billed at $200 per credit (an 86.55% discount). The Education Committee recommended the agreement and the board approved it by motion; the minutes record the recommendation as seconded by Mrs. Laurie Roberts.
Board members also approved the 2026–27 Central Cambria High School course catalog and authorized several curriculum-related field trips and conference attendances, including a 6th-grade baseball thematic unit trip on May 13 with approximately 110 students and nine chaperones. The approvals were routine and intended to expand course and experiential learning opportunities for students.
