Students, teams raise $9,100 for alumnus; two students receive service-academy nominations

Senior Class President Roy Lian updated the Central Cambria School District board on student activities, saying the boys' and girls' basketball teams, together with Bishop Carroll, raised more than $9,100 for a district alumnus who is battling cancer. He also encouraged attendance at the high school musical.
Lian reported that Jeremy Hajzus and Ben Howard were nominated to United States service academies by Congressman John Joyce. The board received the student report during the committee portion of the meeting; no formal action was required. The update was delivered during the Committee Meeting called to order by President Dr. Thomas A. Woods.
