The Wall School District 51‑5 board approved updates to the 2026–27 student handbook that tighten procedures around dual‑credit and online coursework for juniors and seniors.
Staff explained the revisions during a detailed review, saying juniors and seniors may be limited to no more than two dual‑credit courses per semester and that seniors must attend first period and demonstrate at least a B grade at midterm to earn off‑campus dual‑credit privileges. A staff presenter noted administrative and transcript constraints: "Dual credit is only juniors and seniors... juniors can take no more than 2 dual credit courses each semester."
The handbook changes also clarify distinctions among district policy, staff handbooks and student handbooks and insert new language relating to staff and student use of AI tools. The board approved the handbook as amended by voice vote and directed staff to bring final copies and any outstanding clarifications back to the board prior to publication.
Board members asked administration to standardize deadlines for special‑status approvals and to ensure parents and students understand the conditions that affect eligibility for privileges and for online course enrollment.
