Superintendent Brian Rentsch introduced Amy Myer of The Barnett Realtors and Bob Hall of Cronebaugh Auction as parties interested in representing the board in a potential sale of the Claymont Intermediate building. Rentsch said the district is required to offer the building to any community school or chartered non‑public school in the community first; he reported there is none in the district.
Rentsch said the board would prefer to complete a sale before winter to avoid carrying costs and that an auction timeline would be a minimum of 60 days. The board did not take formal action at the May 11 meeting beyond the introductions and preliminary discussion; staff were asked to proceed with next steps to pursue options for disposition of the property.
