The Claymont City Board approved a package of personnel actions on Jan. 12 that included Aurey Somers's early graduation, an unpaid leave for Alexis Stallman, the hiring of Samuel Schafer as a full‑time preferred substitute custodian at $15 per hour, and approval of Brandy Bishop as a certified ELA substitute at $90 per day (retroactive Jan. 5–9, 2026). The minutes record the superintendent's slate of recommendations was approved by unanimous roll‑call vote.
The board also approved payment of $498 to Ian Meiser for a partial mentor year‑1 role, added a preschool volunteer (Joyce Mehok) for 2025–26, and listed classified substitutes pending credentialing. Approved leave dates and compensation rates were recorded in the superintendent's recommendations.
