Jamestown board accepts resignations, approves unpaid leave and substitute hire

The Jamestown Area School Board approved multiple personnel matters on April 9. The board granted one day of unpaid leave for Latisha Baca and approved three unpaid days for Melissa Potase on April 30, May 1 and May 4, 2026. It accepted the resignation of Deborah Schweikert, special education secretary, effective August 31, 2026, and accepted the resignation of Ashley Holder, head junior high volleyball coach, effective April 7, 2026.
The board also approved Thomas Hertzel as a substitute through Kelly Services for the 2025–2026 school year. All personnel motions were moved by Kelli Mayer and seconded by various members and were recorded as passing by unanimous voice vote.
