Library staff briefed the board on efforts to create a "job pod" at the library through a partnership with the Department of Workforce Development and Brown County. The job pod would be a small, semi-private workstation area with a computer and curated resources for job seekers; staff said the Department of Workforce Development has indicated it may provide some dedicated staffing hours for appointments.
"So please, you know, go to the, jobpodwisconsin.org site to get more information," staff said, and noted the library is consulting with Brown County and a consultant to determine the best location for the pod within the building. Staff also said library employees will be trained to connect patrons to the resource and that the initiative grew out of a grant-era program that had paused during the pandemic.
Board members expressed support for the initiative and asked staff to continue with site planning and training arrangements.
