Board approves most co-op athletic deals with Reynolds; Boys baseball proposal fails 4–3

Jamestown Area School Board members voted on multiple cooperative athletic agreements with Reynolds School District for the 2026–2027 PIAA cycle during the May 14 meeting. The board approved Boys Golf (hosted by Jamestown) by unanimous roll call and approved Girls Softball (hosted by Jamestown) by unanimous roll call; a cooperative agreement for Girls Basketball (hosted by Reynolds) passed by a 6–1 roll call vote (Kelli Mayer opposed).
A separate motion to approve a Boys Baseball cooperative agreement, to be hosted by Reynolds, failed by roll call, 4–3. Recorded votes on that motion were: Bercis – yes; Hutchinson – yes; Mayer – no; McElhaney – no; Miller – no; Ternent – no; Volosin – yes. The approvals and the defeat were formal roll-call votes recorded in the minutes and affect where each sport will be hosted next year.
