Lansford to send RFPs for STMP funding and county survey will determine West Ridge paving

President Bruce Markovich reported that of about a dozen companies DCED provided for the Small Towns Municipal Program (STMP), five responded and will receive Requests for Proposal. The borough will use the initial cost estimates returned with a hardship letter to ask DCED how much of the paving cost they will cover; the borough will then decide whether to pay remaining costs or cancel the project.

The county supplied a list of residents who will receive surveys about West Ridge Street paving; the minutes emphasize that any resident who receives the survey must submit it to the office because completed surveys will be forwarded to the county to determine funding eligibility. "Once the borough receives an initial cost, the borough then sends the estimated cost along with a hardship letter to DCED, who will then determine how much of the cost they will cover. The borough then must decide if they want to pay the rest of the cost or scrap the entire program," the minutes state.
