Mary Grace Camin, the district’s director of instruction, told the board the district is moving to computer-based state testing in grades 3–8 and that administrators have worked to ensure students and accommodations are entered into the testing system ahead of the testing window. 'All State testing in grades 3-8 will be computer-based this year,' she said during the April 20 meeting.
Camin also described coordination with neighboring Owego-Apalachin Central School District to administer and score NYSESLAT exams for four English language learners; tests are administered locally and then sent to Owego-Apalachin for scoring. She said a visit to LaFayette School District’s Big Picture School is planned to review performance-based, evidence-driven assessment models that align with Regents and Portrait of a Graduate updates.
