Principal John Swick delivered a roundup of student achievements and school activities at the March 12 meeting. He noted that fourth‑grader B. King won the school Spelling Bee and represented the district at the Jeff‑Lewis BOCES regional competition; students participated in STEM visits from SUNY Poly and SUNY Cortland; a 5th–6th grade book club was started by new librarian Madison Wittwer; and the district plans a Career Fair on May 21.
Swick also highlighted athletic and program recognitions: varsity basketball and volleyball teams advanced to sectionals first‑round victories; several athletes earned CSC all‑star mentions; four students qualified for NYSSRA Championships in alpine and nordic events; and program students from HGSTC were named Student(s) of the Month. The principal’s report provides a summary of recent school events and accomplishments for the board and community.
