The Sweet Home Board of Education on June 16 adopted two bond resolutions to finance a districtwide capital improvements program approved by voters in December 2025.
The first resolution (Proposition No. 1) authorizes reconstruction, rehabilitation and upgrades at an estimated maximum cost of $55,200,000, and provides for applying $3,000,000 from the District’s Capital Improvements Reserve Fund, 2017, toward the work. The board also approved issuing up to $52,200,000 in serial bonds or other obligations to finance the balance. A second resolution (Proposition No. 2) authorizes additional work at an estimated maximum cost of $35,300,000 and issuance of up to $35,300,000 in obligations. Together the two components total $90,500,000 in authorized maximum project costs.
Both resolutions delegate to the Board President the power to issue bond anticipation notes and to manage sale and issuance details consistent with the Local Finance Law. The minutes record the resolutions and incorporate statutory provisions specifying periods of probable usefulness and tax levy backing for general obligation debt. The board placed the resolutions in the official minutes as its formal actions on June 16, 2026.
