The Sweet Home Central School District Board of Education on May 12 approved a Memorandum of Agreement to place occupational therapy and physical therapy positions into the Sweet Home Service Employees’ Association bargaining unit. The board authorized Superintendent Michael V. Ginestre to execute the MOA and take the actions necessary to implement its terms.
The resolution states the district and the Association had engaged in discussions about the placement and concluded the positions “best align with the community of positions presently represented by the Association.” The board recorded a unanimous vote of Yes 6, No 0, Absent 1 on the motion approving the MOA. The resolution directs the superintendent to implement the agreement’s terms; the motion was considered as part of the consent agenda and carried by the board.
Board members did not amend the text of the MOA at the meeting. The board’s action is administrative: it moves the specified positions into the Association’s bargaining unit and empowers district leadership to finalize and apply the agreement to affected staff.
