South Sanpete staff described recent technology changes that expand online payment options for parents and schools.
"With the school cash, you can pay your student fees online," Jake said while walking the board through the SchoolCash platform and a fundraising tool called Success Fund. He said the fundraising platform can accept Venmo, Apple Pay and card payments because the vendor houses the funds and deposits them to the school's account, whereas the district does not accept Venmo directly on its official accounts.
Staff reported each high school has two cellular card readers to support events where Wi‑Fi may be limited, and they said the district is piloting a new messaging app integrated with the website so that app posts also publish on the district web pages. Board members asked about ticket scanning for athletic events and security of payment flows; staff said the vendor supports ticketing and approvals and that the district will continue to ensure compliance with state regulations.
