The Bangor School District board approved an updated 2026–27 staff handbook after administrators summarized changes made to align the handbook with WASBA/WASDA exemplars and district practice. The 133‑page revision removes irrelevant exemplar language, corrects internal links, clarifies reimbursement rules (staff must preapprove purchases and the district will not reimburse tax), standardizes leave increments to quarter‑day units, and increases the number of sick days that may be used for personal time.
"We increase the number of sick days that can be used for personal time, for our teachers, and for our staff from 2 to 3, per year," Dr. Brackham said while reviewing highlights. The updates also add district-specific nepotism language and make Schedule C clarifications and incentive adjustments for paras/substitutes. The board approved the handbook as presented and thanked administration and the committee for their work.
