The Laurens Central School Board approved multiple warrants and fiscal reports during its Sept. 17 meeting, covering general (A Fund) disbursements and payroll warrants. The minutes list sample warrant amounts including a Warrant #8 A Fund amount of $232,875.07 and payroll warrants including $52,086.95, $106,456.15 and $114,912.52 among other fund-specific disbursements.
Separately, the district's business office submitted a budget amendment request, effective June 30, 2025, to process a voter-approved $44,194 transfer from the 2023-24 budget into the Food Service (cafeteria) fund. The transfer had not been recorded in 2023-24 and produced a negative Food Service Fund balance. The amendment would debit Unappropriated, Unreserved Fund Balance (A599) for $44,194 and credit Transfer to Cafeteria (A9901.950-00-0000) for $44,194. The consent agenda that included the amendment was approved by motion of T. Francisco, seconded by P. Bush-Allen; the vote was 3-0-0.
The board's action resolves an outstanding transfer so the Food Service Fund balance can be corrected in the district accounting records. No additional funding sources were specified in the minutes.
