The district said the initial outlay is somewhat higher but resale value for Apple devices and a planned three-to-four-year refresh cycle could improve long-term cost recovery.
The presenter emphasized teacher training is essential. "We plan for training for the teachers... it's pointless if we don't have training for the teachers," the tech lead said, and described Apple Classroom and on-site vendor training days to support implementation. Board members asked whether the iPads were compatible with existing classroom panels and about long-term plans to expand Apple devices to middle and high schools.
