Laurens board approves summer hiring, parental leave and staffing changes

At its July 16 meeting the Laurens Central School Board approved a package of personnel actions recorded in the minutes. The board approved parental leave for Kylie Miller (Elementary Teacher) effective approximately Oct. 1 through Nov. 28, 2025; accepted the resignation of Victoria Munro effective July 25, 2025; appointed Rita Knapp as Summer Bus Monitor retroactive to July 7, 2025; rescinded Munro's Substitute Coordinator appointment and appointed William Dorritie as Substitute Coordinator for the 2025–2026 school year at a salary of $1,739.50.
The minutes also show the board approved the probationary appointment of Logan Barra to Maintenance Worker effective July 17, 2025, with a salary of $40,000 pro-rated for the 2025–2026 year. Each personnel motion in the minutes was captured as part of the consent agenda and recorded as approved by the board.
