Board backs bond resolution and reserve funding steps for 2025–26 capital project

The Laurens Central School District Board of Education approved a bond resolution to advance the 2025-2026 capital improvement project and authorized steps to fund district reserves from the 2024-25 fund balance at its June 18 meeting.
The minutes state the board approved "Bond Resolution 25-26 Capital Project" and a Municipal Cooperation Resolution with NYCLASS; both motions carried 5-0-0. The board also adopted a resolution to fund any or all of a set of reserves (encumbrances, unemployment, workers'comp, emergency repairs, employee benefit liability, capital for buses and building, ERS/TRS reserves) with exact amounts "to be determined upon completion of the external audit." Buildings & Grounds director Steve West reported a new engineer will visit the building to support the capital project planning.
