Oak Run resident urges stormwater fixes after water under Lake 8 foundations

Rich Batterberry, a resident and NVR of Oak Run, told the River Ridge Community Development District board during public comment that residents favor the district's Seaside improvements and urged similar work near Lake 8. "Residents are concerned the water is getting under the foundations," he said, and noted one homeowner incurred significant costs trying to mitigate water coming up through the floor.

District engineer Charlie Krebs reviewed the scope of work performed at Seaside and said because the area near Lake 8 was never re-graded, similar work could address the slow drainage. Chair Bob Schultz told residents the matter would be considered during the Fiscal Year 2025/2026 budget process. No formal motion was made at the meeting; staff identified the project as a candidate for inclusion in upcoming budget planning and further cost estimates.
