Board presses staff on unidentified parcels, GIS conversion and digest timing

Chief Appraiser Ron Lisonbee told the board that converting old blue-line maps into the GIS system over past years has led to corrections that removed or changed many outlying parcels and left a group of "unknown owner" parcels requiring ongoing cleanup. He said the office receives monthly updates from the tax commissioner's office to flag removed mobile homes and uncollectible parcels.

Board members asked for clearer documentation ahead of meetings so non-office members can understand items labeled "change/correction of land/building" and other shorthand on the packet; staff agreed to provide a summary sheet at the next meeting. Lisonbee reminded the board the digest must be delivered on or before Jan. 5, 2027 and that the office typically asks the board to approve the digest at the December meeting.
