Jennifer Gracher presented the proposal explaining that IEE rights are a procedural safeguard if parents disagree with district assessment findings: "They do have the right to request at the cost of the school district for an independent education evaluation with a cap of $1,500," she said. Board members confirmed the policy applies strictly to parental requests and that district staff may pursue internal evaluation updates via a separate process.
The motion to approve was moved by mister Snoddy and seconded by mister Jamieson; the vote was unanimous. Administration said the district has not historically paid for IEEs often, but the criteria formalize the process and ensure parental procedural rights.
