Buckingham schools accept CPR-kit donation from American Heart Association and James River Equipment

The Buckingham County School Board unanimously approved accepting CPR-in-schools kits donated by James River Equipment and the American Heart Association to support student and staff cardiac emergency readiness.
"Cardiac arrest can happen to anybody, anywhere," Whitney of the American Heart Association told the board, describing a recent local story in which a teenager who had learned CPR at school saved a grandparent. Whitney said the kits enable students and staff to learn hands-only CPR in about 20 minutes and help meet the state's cardiac emergency-response planning requirements signed into law July 1. A company representative thanked the community and said the donation reflected a commitment to local schools.
Board members approved the motion to accept the kits without objection. The board recorded the motion as moved by mister Schneider and seconded by mister Goodman; the vote was unanimous.
