Superintendent (S2) announced plans to consolidate polling locations for the May vote to reduce confusion and to avoid construction-related access problems. The district will use the Brewerton Fire Department as a polling site for residents of that area and identified other community sites for other towns; S2 said the fire department waived haul charges and the district expects a $7,000 rental cost for one voting machine at a temporary site.
On transportation, S2 said all current district buses are diesel and that the district intends to place a referendum in December of the next school year asking voters to approve the purchase of two electric buses as a stand-alone question. He said the district is pacing the referendum for December so the board can demonstrate intent to the state and allow planning time for a multi-year bus-replacement strategy.
