Board members discussed planning guest presentations for the year and confirmed retreat logistics.
The Chair asked members to propose priorities for the upcoming year and suggested presentations from the athletic director, special education and counseling departments and possibly the music department. She said she would work with other board members to schedule those presentations and would circulate an email to collect topic suggestions.
Members also discussed retreat planning and strongly recommended including the district attorney so attendees understand "what is expected of a board member, what should a board member not do." One member said the attorney can outline expectations and boundaries for conduct during public meetings and governance duties. The board set a tentative retreat date and planned to finalize agenda topics ahead of the session.
No formal votes were taken on programming; the discussion centered on scheduling and ensuring the retreat and speaker series effectively cover departmental accomplishments and priority areas.
