Board members raised concerns about the Marathon site's environmental history and the adequacy of remediation documentation after staff noted the EPA had determined the site was remediated and approved for development. The Chair said the EPA approval exists but that members may want to review details about remediation constraints, limits on excavation, and monitoring requirements before an application is accepted. Members asked whether independent health statistics or further testing validation were available; staff said he was not aware of health‑statistics reporting and pointed to groundwater monitoring devices and basement-level measurements around adjacent houses.
