Anderson 1 Algebra I students top the state in proficiency, officials say

District officials said Anderson School District 1 ranked first statewide in Algebra I proficiency this year and publicly thanked teachers at Powdersville, Palmetto and Wren for the result.
Brad Moore, chief academic officer for Anderson School District 1, told attendees that Algebra I proficiency placed the district first in the state this year. "Algebra 1 ranks 1st in the state in proficiency this year," Moore said.
Superintendent Seth Young publicly thanked the Algebra I teachers by school name — Powdersville, Palmetto and Wren — and credited both teachers and students for the achievement. Officials did not provide the underlying score data in the remarks but said more detailed reports will be released later in the fall.
