The district's transportation department presented a breakdown of staff, a fleet update and a current mileage chart as administrators begin planning transportation costs for the 2025–26 budget year.
"[Transportation department presentation included] a fleet update and current mileage chart, along with upcoming training and planning for the 2025-2026 budget," the board packet states. The business manager and transportation staff discussed which transportation expenses are eligible for state aid and which are not, information the board will use in budget preparation.
The board approved personnel actions affecting transportation staffing: the appointment of Rachelle (Shelly) Battaglia as a full-time bus attendant retroactive to Jan. 21, 2025, and accepted bus-driver Joanne Dean's letter of intent to retire effective Feb. 28, 2025. Both actions were adopted as part of the personnel consent agenda.
