Oxford board accepts three retirements, appoints summer staff and coaches
Summary
The board accepted letters of intent to retire from three staff members effective June 30, 2025, and approved substitute and volunteer appointments, summer program pay rates and a varsity football coach appointment for 2025–26.
The Oxford Academy & Central School Board accepted letters of intent to retire from three district employees: Holly Cirello (Elementary Teacher), Margaret Cox (School Media Specialist/Library) and Bonnie Emerson (Elementary Teacher). Each retirement was recorded as effective "after the close of day June 30, 2025" in the resolutions the board approved.
The board also approved personnel appointments and temporary assignments: substitute teachers and support staff were appointed, seasonal and summer program staff were authorized (Summer Theatre & Media Expressionism Camp coordinator at $45/hour; Summer Bridge/Catalyst teachers at $40/hour), and the board approved the appointment of Jason Lyon as varsity football coach for the 2025–26 school year, pending certification. Volunteer appointments for modified baseball and track and field were approved as well.
Motions to approve the personnel items were recorded and carried by the board during the meeting.
