Board affirms superintendent's suspension decision after executive session

The Oxford Academy & Central School Board met in exempt (executive) session on March 3 to consider an appeal of a superintendent's suspension decision. The board heard representatives of the student, reviewed the transcript and the record, and deliberated in the absence of the superintendent and any administrators involved in the proceeding.
On a motion by Trustee Nathaniel Emerson, seconded by Trustee John Godfrey, the board adopted Resolution G1.5 and voted 5-0 to affirm the superintendent's findings and the assessments of punishment. The resolution states, in part, that "the findings and assessments of punishment by the Superintendent are hereby affirmed." No additional public action was taken at the meeting regarding the student's case.
