At the Nov. 4 meeting, the Oxford Academy & Central School Board of Education voted unanimously to approve athletic mergers with Greene Central School District for multiple sports for the 2024–25 season.
Resolutions G5 through G9 authorize mergers for varsity/JV boys wrestling, varsity girls wrestling, modified wrestling, varsity boys and girls bowling, and varsity boys and girls indoor track. The business-office motion approving related consent items (including a BOCES billing bundle) recorded a DCMO BOCES invoice total of $412,539.37; the motion block passed Yes-5, No-0.
In an athletics overview prior to the votes, Tim Davis said boys soccer won the league championship and noted varsity football "had to forfeit their last game," urging the district to discuss whether to continue 8- or 11-man football. Board members acknowledged the recommendation and welcomed further discussion at a future agenda.
