At its Aug. 11 meeting the Pawnee Independent School District Board approved a large package of updated and new policies affecting students and staff.
Notable approvals included the annual review of the AED and Sudden Cardiac Emergency Plan under SB 1921 (the Chase Morris Act), a Bereavement Leave policy with updated language, a suite of anti‑bullying policies and investigation/regulation procedures, concurrent enrollment student policy, a new NIL (name, image, likeness) policy, and multiple local policies on cell phones, closed campus, tobacco/vape, local leave (including bereavement language for miscarriage), technology, communications platforms and a spring field trip policy for MS/HS. Most motions were moved and seconded by board members and carried with Yes votes recorded for John Henry, Savannah Waters, Carol Rapp and Gary Vance.
