Leesville council approves multiple routine measures, hears engineer update and administrator impact statement

At the July 27, 2026 meeting the Leesville City Council approved multiple routine and project-related measures. Resolution 85 authorized advertisement for bids for rehabilitation of the South Plant Ground Storage Tank; Resolution 88 authorized advertising for bids to purchase and install a new HVAC for the MLK Community Center; Resolution 89 authorized estimates for fencing at the Rec Complex; Resolution 90 approved the re-appointment of Eric Baker as the Fire Representative to the Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Board; Resolution 91 authorized on-premise alcohol consumption at the Leesville Event Center for an approved event on Oct. 23, 2026; and Resolution 94 approved the appointment of Madison Willis as Clerk of Court for Ward One City Court. Where recorded, motions to adopt were moved and seconded as noted in the minutes and the measures passed.

Separately, City Engineer Byron Racca provided an update on active and substantially completed municipal projects. Time was allotted for departmental updates and City Administrator Patti Larney gave an impact statement; council comments on agenda and non-agenda items followed. The meeting adjourned at 5:42 p.m.
