The presenter described adding more in‑service days in August because "the 3 in service days in August are not enough for our staff to get their feet under them before the year starts, especially for brand new staff who are having to learn it all in this whirlwind of 3 days." The calendar will be circulated to licensed and classified unions for feedback, and a final copy will return to the board in March for approval.
The presenter said the draft otherwise follows a standard school break schedule and that the added in‑service days are intended to provide additional training time and support for incoming staff. The board did not take action on the calendar at this meeting.
