Board recognizes National Board–certified teachers, marks National Board Appreciation Month

Superintendent Mr. Willis opened the recognitions by highlighting the district’s National Board–certified teachers and inviting two recently certified educators to stand for recognition. "We have 2 that have just recently completed their national board certification," Willis said, noting a bulletin board listing about 17 certified teachers districtwide and naming Tracy Wills (Alexandria Elementary) and Leanne Bridal (Saks Elementary).

Willis described the certification process as strengthening classroom practice and announced the district marked National Board Appreciation Month with gifts for board members and a photo opportunity for certified teachers. The board and guests applauded the honorees; the meeting proceeded after brief comments commending principals, directors and staff for supporting the work.
