Board members and administrators praised the district’s role hosting the Special Olympics, highlighting the scale of planning and the many volunteers who ran events. "We worked with the Special Olympics team from New York to be able to ensure that we were doing it the right way," Susan told the board, and she named coordinators and volunteers responsible for security, parking, concessions, medical stations and program management.
Board members said the event showed strong community coordination and noted staff will reconvene to reconfigure logistics for next year after reviewing lessons learned. The board also thanked the buildings and grounds staff, PE department, and multiple volunteers for making the day run smoothly.
