The superintendent presented the board with a summer-project plan meant to improve safety, efficiency and building condition across the district. Work described included refinishing the high-school gym floor, painting, replacing classroom and bathroom flooring, installing mini-split HVAC units, adding an electrical panel, replacing large clear-block windows with smaller energy-efficient windows, and completing LED lighting retrofits at Winter Lakes Elementary.
At Lincoln, the superintendent proposed converting a former classroom into a new front office to improve sightlines to the parking lot and visitor access. The projects also include permitting and electrical work and some structural modifications (metal headers and partition walls) at elementary buildings; the superintendent said contractors and district maintenance staff in Coos County would be used to complete the work this summer.
