Resident accuses contractor of repeated work failures at Ivanhoe Dam

A resident identified in the public-comment period as Woodrone told the Ivanhoe Town Council he has observed repeated poor workmanship at the Ivanhoe Dam and asked the council to investigate.

"It's the Ivanhoe Dam. Five times, at least, that contractor has filled in and compry compacted the outfall below the dam," Woodrone said, adding that riprap installed along the outfall had been pushed aside so the contractor could "redo something." He suggested the pattern could be either incompetence or an attempt "to pad their wallet or they're wanting to extend the time until the end of the grant." The mayor thanked Woodrone and said town staff (including David) would follow up after the meeting.

The council did not take action during the meeting beyond the mayor's offer to discuss the matter with staff afterward. The mayor later reported broader dam updates and said engineering firms and legal staff are involved in monitoring dam repairs elsewhere in town; he asked staff to coordinate further checks and to report back at a later meeting.

The council did not cite a contractor by name during public comment. The town's next formal dam reports are scheduled for the end of the month, when the council expects engineering documentation and updates from contractors and regulators.
