The Claymont City Board of Education on May 11 approved the April financial report, payment of bills and mid‑year appropriation amendments and accepted donations for a new Claymont High School digital sign, including $5,000 from the Tusky VFW and $100 from the Dennison Rotary. The board also approved a MinuteMen HR renewal for workers’ compensation coverage for the 2027 Group Retrospective Rating Program for $2,300.
On the same motion the board adopted a formal resolution “prohibits unauthorized ransomware payments,” stating that no employee, officer or agent of the district shall authorize, negotiate or make a ransomware payment unless expressly approved by formal board resolution in accordance with Ohio Revised Code 9.64. The motion to approve the treasurer’s recommendations was moved by Mrs. Host, seconded by Mrs. Grandison and carried on a roll call vote with all members voting yes.
