The Vernonia School District Board of Directors appointed Christopher McManus to the vacant Position #6 at its July 9 regular meeting. After a private-ballot first round produced a tie between McManus and Colton DeWitt, the board held a second round in which McManus received the most votes. Lisa Curry moved to appoint McManus effective July 9, 2026; Tony Holmes seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Superintendent Darla Waite-Larkin administered the Oath of Office to McManus at the meeting. Board minutes state McManus will serve in the seat until the next election cycle in Spring 2027. The board recorded six members present at the meeting and one vacant position before the appointment.
