Board accepts auditor—s clean review and approves $8.36 million in payments

The Springfield Board of Education on Feb. 2 accepted its 2024—2025 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and Auditor—s Management Report, which the auditor summarized as containing no recommendations for the reporting period. "The results of our auditors— examination were excellent and the district is doing everything it needs to do to be successful as far as its financial reporting," the auditor told the board.
The board approved the bills list and wire transfers originally totalling $8,395,130.75 and, after two voided checks, recorded a grand total of $8,360,572.45. It also approved budget-transfer adjustments covering charter-school tuition, special-education accounts, professional services, CST software and travel, and other personnel-line shifts. The board accepted the ACFR during the finance committee—s section of the meeting and recorded the auditor for fiscal year 2024—2025 as Robert A. Hulsart and Company.
Board members stressed the routine nature of the audit findings and thanked the business office. The board also authorized certificates of payment tied to referendum projects and facilities work (see related coverage on facilities and change orders). No dissenting votes were recorded on the finance items; roll-call votes on committee packages were recorded as Yes 8, Absent 1.
