Superintendent presents annual online continuity plan, handbooks and personnel items
Summary
Dr. Stewart presented the district’s required online continuity plan (due annually to the Ohio Department of Education) plus student, athletic and staff handbooks, substitute rates, personnel renewals, and supplemental-service contracts for board approval.
Dr. Stewart told the board the online continuity plan must be adopted each year to meet Ohio Department of Education requirements and summarized a package of routine approvals including student handbooks (primary through high school), an athletic handbook, staff handbooks, internal substitute rates, and personnel actions.
"This is required by the Ohio Department of Education every year to be passed by July 1," Dr. Stewart said, explaining the plan outlines how the district would educate students if an incident closed schools for multiple days. She also noted substitute teacher recruitment efforts and introduced two new employees the board will welcome: Michaela Wellendorf and Ty Harris.
A motion to approve superintendent’s report items 7a through 10d was moved by a board member and seconded; the board voted in favor in roll-call answers from named trustees. The presentation and motion covered both routine, required compliance items and personnel decisions for the coming school year.
