Students brief board on criminal-justice class, Europe trip and sense-of-belonging survey; scholarship administration flagged

ASB public relations representative Charlotte Schlegel presented a student survey of 81 high-school respondents that found only about 33% said their classmates knew and supported them; students proposed forming a girls' mental-health group and a peer tutoring "power hour" for next year.
During administrator reports, board members and staff also discussed ongoing problems with scholarship administration: late donor contact, missing information, and a scattered communications process. School staff said they were consolidating donor lists, emailing donors and preparing certificates; the superintendent and staff committed to follow-up to make sure scholarship funds reach students and to improve the handoff to next-year staff.
Board members asked the district to increase communication to families about student-body accounts and senior-class funds and to ensure advisers provide parents with plans for spend-down and distribution before graduation.
