Superintendent Hellman presented the proposed 2627 budget and framed it as a cautious plan aligned to district goals: instructional resources, safe facilities and staff professional development.
"For the 2627 fiscal year, the district's total formula revenue comprised of local property taxes and the state school fund is projected at $9,763,915.95," Hellman told the committee, adding that the district developed a balanced general fund budget of approximately $10,300,000. She said the funding picture requires disciplined decisions because state revenue does not fully keep pace with inflation and rising operational costs.
Hellman emphasized the budget reflects community priorities and multiple funding streams, including a $828,000 transportation grant and targeted grant dollars. She told members the district will take a conservative enrollment assumption when finalizing budgets and that staff time will be available to answer detailed questions submitted through the committee's Google form.
