Budget committee elects Lisa Curry chair, names Alicia vice chair

Lisa Curry was elected chair of the Vernonia School District budget committee after a voice vote during the meeting called to order at 6 p.m.
Committee member (S6) nominated Curry and a colleague seconded the nomination; Chair Scott called for an aye vote and the motion carried by voice vote. The committee also nominated and approved Alicia as vice chair in the same session, and later approved the budget committee meeting minutes from 05/08/2025.
The slate of leadership changes came at the start of the committee's meeting as members completed organizational items before the superintendent's budget presentation. Clerk (S2) confirmed the next budget committee meeting is scheduled for 05/14/2026 at 6 p.m., in conjunction with the regular school board meeting.
