Board elects chair, names vice chair and finalizes committee assignments

During its July meeting the Vernonia SD 47J board held annual officer elections and committee assignments. Greg was nominated and re-elected board chair for 2026–27 by voice vote. Joni Jones was nominated for vice chair and approved by voice vote.
The board reviewed superintendent advisory assignments and named members for committees including safety, policy review, negotiations and scholarships. A board member read the committee list into the record to confirm volunteers and ensure the chair and clerk have the correct assignments for each committee.
