Board approves routine contracts, construction change orders and technology purchases

During the March 17 business meeting the Parkland School District board approved numerous committee recommendations and procurement items after committee review.

The academics committee's items carried by motion included adoption of a resolution supporting House Bill 41 on interscholastic athletics, approvals for the K–12 school counseling plan revisions, authorization of 2026 Parkland Summer Camps and Summer School sessions and staff, CLIU 21 agreements for special-education services and driver-education affiliation agreements. The facilities committee moved and the board approved demolition bids adjacent to Tetronia Elementary and multiple change orders for ongoing projects, along with a subscription for construction documentation services totaling $140,277.27 through April 2029.

Technology purchases approved included PEPPM contracts through CDWG LLC for replacement Chromebooks, with line items totaling $546,840 in one item and $189,930 in another. Board members asked that the technology department also review alternative, lower-cost options for future cycles. Multiple motions were moved, seconded and carried without recorded opposition.
