Staff member outlines Pleasantville strategic planning process, stakeholder surveys

A Staff member for the Pleasantville Union Free School District said the district is launching a strategic planning year that will anchor Pleasantville 2026 goals to the New York State Portrait of a Graduate and focus on student needs. "So 1 of the things that the administrators worked on during our retreat was strategic planning preparation," the Staff member said.
The Staff member described two primary categories for student needs: academic readiness and being "a global citizen, being happy, and being of someone of of good character." He said the district will distribute distinct surveys for parents, teachers and students before school opens and will invite community members to serve on a steering committee to help "combing through the survey data and helping us make decisions." The district intends the committee to review results and inform next steps for the plan.
