Tioga Central board approves 2026–27 food-service and COOP bids, OKs health-and-welfare contract

The Tioga Central School District Board of Education voted unanimously June 10 to approve a slate of food-service and cooperative purchasing bids that will take effect for the 2026–27 school year. The consent vote, moved by Vice‑President Pamela Zwierlein and seconded by Scot Taylor, recorded a 7–0 tally.
The board approved named bid packages including smallwares (#MSS-44-FS-26), ice cream (#MSS-45-FS-26), bread (#MSS-46-FS-26), paper and supplies (#MSS-47-FS-26 through December 31, 2026), milk (#MSS-48-FS-26), meat & cheese (#MSS-49-FS-26 through October 31, 2026), produce (#MSS-50-FS-26), and IW Fresh Fruit & Vegetable (#MSS-61-FS-26). The approvals generally run July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, unless a different end date is listed in the agenda. The board also approved COOP bids for janitorial supplies, physical education/athletic supplies, teaching supplies and art supplies.
In the same vote the board approved a Health and Welfare contract for one student attending a private school in the Vestal Central School District for $681.00 and authorized a bus-lease request from Owego Nazarene Church for travel on June 29 and July 7. The approvals were presented as part of the Financial Consent Agenda and recorded in the meeting minutes.
